Mali wedding bead necklace

Vintage Czech molded glass beads in an array of colors known as Mali wedding beads. These beads were used as collectible currency for African tribes and traded with European merchants. Used in wedding rituals today the tradition of a mother presenting her daughter with a string of these beads continues. A silver clasp marked 925 on a string that spans 24 inches end to end, this piece reminds Ciel of the Art glass of Dale Chihuly. Truly a wearable piece of art.
